The ELC of Seminole Board of Directors is a group of at least 15 community members whose composition is designated by Florida State Statues. The board is made up of mandatory appointees from various agencies, private sector members, and three governor appointees (including the Board Chair). ELC of Seminole bylaws also allows three seats for community “at-large” members.
Board meetings are public and childcare providers are welcome to attend.

All Board of Director and Committee meetings are open to the public and allow for public input. These hybrid meetings will be held at the Early Learning Coalition of Seminole County, located at 280 Hunt Park Cove Suite 1020, Longwood, FL 32750. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board of Directors with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing listed above, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. As required by Florida statute.
The Early Learning Coalition of Seminole is currently seeking volunteer candidates to fill two private-sector business member positions (appointed by the Govenor); including one chair on the Board of Directors.
The private-sector business candidate must reside in Florida and be one of the following individuals associated with a private-sector business entity conducting business in Seminole County:

Local Early Learning Coalitions abide by The Florida Government in the Sunshine Law, which prohibits discussion outside a duly noticed meeting between any two or more Early Learning Coalition Board members regarding any matter that may come before the Board.
Communications made or received by the Early Learning Coalition Board or staff members are considered public records that must be retained and, upon request, made available to the public and media.
